Behind the Code

I'm Haftom Giday, a full-stack developer and mobile app engineer who builds products with a sharp eye for both engineering quality and design craft.

My background spans building scalable APIs in Flask, crafting cross-platform apps with Flutter, and architecting web platforms. I care deeply about code that is readable, maintainable, and actually works at scale.

When I'm not writing code, I'm exploring design systems, studying emerging tech, and looking for the intersection of beautiful UX and solid engineering.

Mobile & Backend Developer

Independent Project — Selamawi Ride-Hailing App

2025 — Present

Building a full ride-hailing system for a local town (Selamawi) from the ground up.
Engineered a Flutter Passenger App and Flutter Driver App with real-time map tracking using Leaflet + OpenStreetMap.
Built a Flask backend API handling authentication, ride dispatch, live tracking logic, and database architecture in PostgreSQL.
Integrated FCM push notifications and designed a dispatcher dashboard for operators.
